Myra Hudson has a passion for at-risk youth and all those with mental illness. This passion has led her to take a keen interest in starting her own program to combat the violence that’s destroying our youth and those with mental illness. If she can save at least one person, it will serve as one of her big accomplishments.
She is a strong African-American woman who keeps a smile in the midst of good and bad times. She is practical, realistic, optimistic, compassionate, independent, a self-starter, a hard worker and a perfectionist.
As an adolescent and a young adult, the author overcame many obstacles in her life. She turned her negative experiences into positive messages and experiences that will render hope and encouragement for other adults, youth, and the community. At age twenty-one, she accepted Christ into her life. She put God, her children, and others before herself. She has a big heart in lending a helping hand to others.
She proudly recognizes her accomplishments: becoming an author, mommy, wife, licensed certified nursing assistant, pediatric care assistant, certified medical assistant, business woman, advocate for children, completing training with the Parent Leadership Training Institute, community volunteer, customer service coordinator, motivational speaker, former director of a youth and recreation center and a former department manager for a department store. She also won the runner-up for the Laura Robey Award in grade school for displaying “Exemplary Character and Attitude.”
